Stretching and Flexibility
Everyday your muscles work hard. Even with your daily routine such activities as walking, standing up, reaching, pulling and pushing requires muscle lengthening and contraction. When you exercise your muscle fibers contract and lengthen at a increased rate and causes the fibers to become tightened and out of place. Stretching is what helps return your muscle fibers back to its normal length and position. Some experts would argue that stretching before vs stretching after exercise make a difference, through my experiences with clients a stretch and warm up before activity is just as important as a cool down and stretch after a workout. Be sure to stretch the muscle groups that required the most work in you activity to offset soreness, drink plenty of water, and get your rest. I enjoy using the meridian stretching and flexibility techniques to improve my overall well being.
